How to Shop Online Like A Pro

Online shopping is a very convenient way of getting everything you like just at a click of a few buttons. Online shopping not only saves your time but also provides you with a large variety of products. But have you ever been in a situation where a dress you bought online fitted very badly or you ended up wasting your money as there was no return policy for the items you didn't like?

So how can you shop online like a pro? How can you make sure you don't get caught out by scams or find yourself with ill-fitting clothes? Here are top tips to make the most of online shopping.

1. Know your measurements:

It's very important to know your correct measurements so you don't end up buying ill-fitted clothes. We all know that sizes vary depending on the brand as well as the products. Take a measuring tape and take note of your bust, waist, hip, and inseam. Check out the image provided below or head to your local tailor and have them do it for you.

2. Check the size charts:

Every product has a different size chart, so compare it with your measurements and choose the best size. Take a glance at the size chart of all the products you wish to order. Another thing you might want to look at is the size the model is wearing. Her height can sometimes give you an idea of how long or short a piece actually is.

3. Read the description of the product:

The feel of the material is just as important as the size. There's nothing worse than finally receiving a dress you've been eyeing for months, only to find that the fabric feels of extremely poor quality. Always check the fabric name, fabric properties (whether stretchable or not) and, material composition. If you know from past experience that you hate polyester and that top you're about to buy is all about it, you'll be able to take the buying decision correctly.

4. Read the reviews:

Customer reviews are extremely valuable pieces of information since they give you a real perspective on the product you're considering to buy. Check the comments on size, fit and quality of material to get a better idea of whether an item fits true to size, or if you'll need to size up or down.

5. Check the return and refund policy:

Even if you have followed all the above steps, there still might be an occasional disappointment. Be prepared for it and check the return policies of the product you are buying. Things to look for: free returns, return period of the products, whether or not you can make exchanges, and the refund time.

6. Be flexible:

Be aware that how the color appears on-screen may not be the exact same in person. There may be a color difference due to different viewing screens. And while you should be prepared for your products to arrive in a slightly different hue, if it doesn't match even your adjusted expectations, definitely send it back.

  1. Very useful! However, even if you are very careful and diligent while shopping, you can always have the misfortune to receive a product which, even if it is your size, won't fit because the measurements were misleading on the website... this happened to me with a pair of boots which were my size, but I couldn't even put them on, let alone zip them. I was so disappointed....
